What kind of orthodontic appliance are being used?

There are two main orthodontic appliances:

  • The removable appliances: They are appliances that the patient wears during the day and night according to the instructions given by the doctor. Some examples are the clear aligners, the hawleys etc.
  • The fixed appliances: These appliances are fixed permanently on the teeth and the patient cannot remove them. Some examples are the braces, the Class II appliances etc. Their advantage is that the cooperation of the patients is not needed to make them work and they apply forces on the teeth 24/7, what makes them ideal for difficult cases and precision.
